Here I am - Send me! I can serve!

Whether you are able to serve for an hour on a Wed in June, an hour on Sunday in July, or a few hours on Thursday in July,
There is a way for you to serve with our cherished children!
Bring your spouse, invite a family member, or serve with a friend!

If you like to plan ahead or can be contacted at the last minute, we have space for you to serve in meaningful ways.

What drew you to teach with Faith and Fellowship Hour?
I wanted to be more involved and get to know people. Life in general sometimes leaves me feeling isolated and my faith life was depleted.

What keeps drawing you to teach so often?
I love watching the kids grow “in wisdom and stature”! I also appreciate getting to know their families and seeing how dedicated they are.

How do the children help you grow in faith?
They help me see that faith starts with a little seed and practice.

-Robin Flournoy, 3rd-5th Grade Sunday School Teacher

How have you become more rooted and grounded in your faith through teaching this year?
I have learned so many bible stories and it is such a joy to watch the children make their own interpretations and become friends in our community of faith. I too feel a deeper connection with the church and its members through teaching.

What do you consider your vocation to be, and how do you live out your faith through your vocation?
I consider my vocation to be one of caring and having patience (important when teaching little ones).
I care about the future of our children and hope to teach them that they can be the light of God in so many ways!

What drew you to teach with Sunday School?
As a parent of two very energetic young boys,I wanted to ensure a great environment for them to learn and grow in God’s word.

What keeps drawing you back so often to teach?
The pure innocence and excitement they have learning the stories in the Bible reminds me of what truly is the most important thing.

How do the children help you grow in faith?
I learn more from the children then I could possibly teach them!

How have you become more rooted and grounded in your faith through teaching this year?
The love the children have for learning something new about Jesus every week challenges me as a teacher to learn something new to teach them.

-John Holmes, PreK3/4, K,1st, 2nd Grade Sunday School Teacher

What drew you to teach with Sunday School?
We wanted to be involved in the Church and the nourishment of our children’s faith formation.

We enjoy teaching the children and helping them grow in their faith.

How do the children help you grow in faith?
Teaching forces us to learn the weekly lessons in advance and meditate upon them throughout the week.

How have you become more rooted and grounded in your faith through teaching this year?
It has allowed us to build a strong routine to start our week by prioritizing our faith and trust in God.

-Robert Smedley and Allison Smedley, PreK3/4 and K-2nd

- What drew you to teach with Sunday School?
I wanted to contribute to PCPC from not just a treasure but a time perspective too.

Always great seeing the world through a child's eyes!
