About Entering Faith Formation Milestone
Children need assurance that Faith and Fellowship Hour is a safe place for them. Parents need to learn that Faith Formation is a ministry that partners with the home to pass on faith, values and character formation. Partnering home and congregation is emphasized in this milestone.
Presentation of a Bible storybook. Remind parents of the promises made at baptism/dedication. These little children cannot yet read but reading the stories with them will allow them to understand the importance of telling stories of our faith.

Why this Milestone?
We bring children, parents and other adults together to recognize this time in the lives of families with small children, incorporating a simple structure that includes:
- Naming – It is important to recognize this special time for children as they join others in the congregation to learn more about their faith. Parents and other adults learn about their role as faith mentors for children.
- Equipping – This milestone provides the opportunity for families and others to practice the Four Keys and emphasizes the importance of learning about their faith together.
- Blessing – The blessing of this special time in the lives of young children reinforces the importance of faith formation for all ages.
- Gifting – Giving an age appropriate Bible to young children is a tool and physical reminder of this important step in the faith journey.
- Reinforcing – Follow up after the Entering Faith Formation Milestone by connecting this group one more time to discuss how the Sunday school lessons are equipping the faith journey in the home.
