I Love You, God! (Psalm 23) Reading
In the book of Psalms, some prayers help us tell God that we love God. Some of the prayers help us talk to God. They tell us that we can trust God. Have you ever wondered how to say, "I love you" to God? This psalm is a good example. King David may have written this psalm when he was a shepherd. He spent days and nights with the sheep. We tell God, "I love you," and we know that God already loves us.
God takes care of me
like a shepherd cares for the sheep
I have everything I need:
food to eat
and water to drink.
God takes care of me.
God leads me to good ways of living.
Even when I am frightened,
I remember that God is with me.
God cares for me and keeps me safe.
God, you care for me.
even when people want to be mean to me.
You give more than I can imagine.
Yes, your constant love will be with me forever.
I will be your child as long as I live.

Help Me, God (Psalm 28) Reading
When you need help with something like homework or learning to pitch a ball or ride a bike, who helps you? When you make a mistake, who helps you learn how to do better next time? Perhaps you ask a parent or grandparent, aunt or uncle, teacher or neighbor to help because you know that they love you. Because we know that God loves us, we can ask God for help too. God may not teach us how to ride a bike, but God can help us be kind and loving.
The book of the Bible called the Psalms is a book of poems and prayers. Some of them ask God for help. They show us how we can ask God for help. This poem-prayer is based on verses from Psalm 28.
Listen, God.
I will cry from the bottom of my heart
if you do not listen to me.
I am angry about people who do bad things.
They do not care about you.
I do not want to be like them.
You do listen to me, God.
I want to love you, God.
I trust you. You help me.
I will thank you with song!

Thank You, God (Psalm 100) Reading
When someone gives you a gift, you usually say thank you. You can do that with words, or hugs, or even with a picture or a card. But how do you say thank you to God? It is hard to hug God or draw a picture for God. We can say thank you with a prayer.
The book of the Bible called the Psalms has 150 poems. Many of the poems were the words for songs to God. Many of the poems are prayers. Some psalms say thank you to God for the world and the people that God created. Here is one thank-you poem.
All the earth, shout with Joy to God!
Celebrate!
Sing Joyfully to God!
You know that God is good.
God made us. We belong to God.
You and me, we are God's people.
God cares for us all the time.
Come to God's house and give thanks.
Walk through the door. Shout praises to God!
Thank you God. Give God many thanks.
God is really good.
God's love is always with us.
God's love continues from parents to children, again and again.
