Scripture to Read

Matthew 14:13-21
Now when Jesus heard this, he withdrew from there in a boat to a deserted place by himself. But when the crowds heard it, they followed him on foot from the towns.

When he went ashore, he saw a great crowd; and he had compassion for them and cured their sick.

When it was evening, the disciples came to him and said, "This is a deserted place, and the hour is now late; send the crowds away so that they may go into the villages and buy food for themselves."

Jesus said to them, "They need not go away; you give them something to eat."

They replied, "We have nothing here but five loaves and two fish."

And he said, "Bring them here to me."

Then he ordered the crowds to sit down on the grass. Taking the five loaves and the two fish, he looked up to heaven, and blessed and broke the loaves, and gave them to the disciples, and the disciples gave them to the crowds.

And all ate and were filled; and they took up what was left over of the broken pieces, twelve baskets full.

And those who ate were about five thousand men, besides women and children.

WHEN DREAMS UNRAVEL
(I HOPE YOU BROUGHT YOUR RAFT)

If I can’t spend my quarantine with you,
Then I will spend my quarantine writing love letters. They will sound something like this:

“Dear old friend,
It seems that this life is a river that ebbs and flows. And it seems we have found ourselves in the rapids— Choppy waters, where it’s hard to stand. Read more

Something to Wonder and Discuss
* I wonder How they felt when Jesus told them to feed the crowd?
* I wonder what did they think when they realized that there was going to be enough?
* I wonder what do you think they did with the leftover food?
* I wonder how did this event change them?

new Opportunity to connect

PCPC and  34th St Church of God (historically black congregation, led by Bishop Tom Scott) have participated in joint dinners, picnics, and hope to extend that fellowship further.  Their church recently came up with the idea of having “surprise pals” between members of each congregation.  We want to encourage continuing contacts with their members.  They asked to include young people (children and youth), as well as adults, in the program. We are inviting your family to participate in this ministry.

Meant for families to participate or individual ages 8 and up.
